A soul plan reading examines the essence of your life purpose by exploring the qualities you have and the goals you need to reach in order to achieve your ‘soul destiny’ what you are here on earth to accomplish.

The idea is that the letters in your birth name each have a number associated with them, which when added together activate your soul plan, a blueprint for your life that helps guide you to be the person you were destined to be.
‘Soul plan is a powerful tool, which can help you in many areas of your life personal, spiritual or business,’ he says. ‘It looks at every aspect of your life and shows you how you can realise your strengths and overcome challenges. ‘I sometimes tell people that having a soul plan reading is a bit like having an astrological birth chart drawn up, but rather than looking to the skies, you look to your birth name to gain insight into yourself and your life path.
‘My own discovery of soul plan was serendipitous. I signed up for a meditation group and the guy running it also happened to be a soul plan practitioner and introduced me to the practice. After discovering my soul plan, I gave up my project manager’s job of 28 years and started my own business practicing holistic therapies, including soul plan readings. I have found it a true inspiration and believe if others can realise their potential in the way I have, it has to be the way forward.’
Then, during the second half of the last century, spiritual visionary Frank Alpher channelled a numerology method known as Star of Creation Gematria, which forms the basis of the soul plan system.
‘The calculations performed to create a soul plan are based around a six-pointed star,’ explains Andrew. ‘Each letter, or combination of letters in your birth name, is assigned a value. When applied to Frank Alpher's method, this results in a collection of symbols each representing an aspect of your life. The final position of these symbols around the star will then indicate if they present a challenge, a talent or a goal to the individual. A seventh symbol is then derived from the sum of the other symbols. This combination of energies is called your soul destiny and, when combined, will indicate your life purpose and the reason you are on earth.’
In the early part of this century, Blue Marsden, founder of the Holistic Healing College, in London, extended on the soul plan system, introducing new interpretations, affirmations and elements of numerology, explains Andrew.
‘This means that now each of the 22 symbols used within the soul plan methodology relate not only to a Hebrew letter, but also a quality or polarity, an area of the physical body and celestial body,’ he explains. ‘This in itself can give the client further areas to explore and can provide resonance with health matters, astrology and patterns experienced through life that maybe only with a soul plan reading have become apparent.’
‘The very essence of the soul plan method builds to the area of your soul destiny, to indicate where your energies are positioned and what it is we are working towards. For example, after having a soul plan reading some people may discover they are best placed in a service role, such as care workers, others as teachers, others in a creative industry where they inspire people.’
A soul plan also looks at the spiritual aspects of your life, as well as the more ‘worldly’ ones.
‘Although the world is becoming more tuned into spirituality and holistic practices, there can still be an element of stigma attached to those who have come out of the spiritual closet and many people take a long time to discover where they fit in,’ says Andrew. ‘That’s where a soul plan can help, as it allows you to explore the mystic potential you hold within yourself and see how you can best implement this to rise above doubters and help others.
‘Your soul plan will point to those areas most in alignment with your own energetic vibration, and give encouragement to look for signs or pursue a certain path. For example, there could be a strong indication for clairaudience which may have been previously ignored as ‘just noise’. One client said, “I always hear things,” but she had never actually considered Spirit was trying to get her attention.’
‘The soul plan method can be used to help businesses choose a name to provide the best possible chances of success,’ says Andrew. ‘As with an individual, the name will indicate areas of strength and weakness. For example, if the calculations result in creativity being a challenging quality, a business where this quality is key may want to seek another name.’
‘Before a client comes to me, I will know very little about them, all I need is their birth name to draw up their soul plan,’ says Andrew. ‘Before the session, I will calculate the client’s birth name and then we will discuss the findings. To give an idea of how it works, I'll tell you about a client, called Janet*,who came for a reading.
‘Janet was reaching retirement and needed some support and guidance on how her life’s direction would pan out. The session started with some gentle questioning, based on the formula of her birth plan. Starting with her worldly challenges, it highlighted a troubled upbringing, leading to patterns of behaviour adopted by her to give her a sense of protection. ‘As the session continued, we moved onto her talents and it became apparent that her need for self-protection from the past had encouraged her successful business life, and supported her to become the respected figure that she was. ‘However, this came at the expense of the relationships with her children. It was clear that Janet’s own relationship with her children had mirrored the one she had with her own parents. The tears came as we discussed this realisation.
‘Later, we looked at the final part of her plan, her soul destiny and how her past could help her in future pursuits. Once Janet realised the link between her own upbringing and role as a mother, she was able to move forward. We rounded off the session with a little forgiveness work towards her parents and for herself, to finally allow her to move on. ‘As with many of my clients, Janet may well have more work to do to reach the place she wants to be, but she now has some of the tools for her journey.’
‘A session lasts between one to two hours, although mine usually take 90 minutes,’ says Andrew. ‘When you book an appointment, you give your birth name, and the practitioner will then carry out the necessary preparatory work before seeing you for your session. The session will include elements of counselling and may introduce holistic and healing methodologies, dependent on the practitioner’s own experience and areas of expertise, such as reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and hypnotherapy.’ Andrew says that the soul plan system is a spiritual tool that’s becoming ever more popular in the UK and if more people discovered the practice it could change many lives for the better. ‘It has literally changed my life path and, with the experiences of my clients, it is clear how empowering it can be,’ he adds. ‘It encompasses the whole person, considering aspects of their life, and their life to come, from a spiritual and worldly perspective. We all need to work at life and the soul plan system will help us to make life work well by giving guidance and helping us see past obstacles. It’s a wonderful thing!’

Soul plan: Cosmic roots
Before we go any further, it’s important to explain exactly how soul plan came about.
